Surrey wedding photographer opportunities at Shirley Park Golf Club

Shirley Park Golf Club is a very welcoming, intimate and homely Surrey wedding venue just over a mile from East Croydon station and set in lovely countryside next to Shirley Hills.

We have found that the dining area converts well for the ceremony room with plenty of space to move around and natural light from the windows overlooking the golf course allowing lots of scope for lovely wedding photographs during the ceremony. With a capacity of up to 100 seated guests, this room with its high domed ceiling creates a light and spacious area for both the wedding ceremony and the wedding breakfast and after dinner celebrations, where the capacity can be increased to 150 guests for a standing buffet.

Connecting the function room to the rest of the club house is the comfortable lounge and bar area which is a pleasant airy space for guests to sit down and relax. From here doors open out onto a spacious patio where guests can mingle over a glass of champagne or a pint and children can play on a hot sunny day providing another opportunity here for plenty of informal reportage wedding photography.

There is a specific area for taking the group wedding photographs though on a sunny day it can prove challenging as there is little cover from the sun. For the Bride and Groom however, a quick jump into a golf buggy and we can be off onto the course and in amongst the shade of the trees for some fun and romantic wedding pictures.

On a hot summers day when the golfers are making the most of the weekend the car park can get full pretty quickly however across from the club there are several roads with convenient alternative parking.
