This lovely 16th Century barn style country house is a charming and homely Surrey wedding venue that is situated on the Hampshire border between Farnham and Haslemere. It is accessed by a long and winding forest-lined private road complete with quaint badger warning signs.
If you are looking for an experienced Cain Manor Wedding photographer then look no further.
Surrounded on all sides by greenery, this exclusive venue opens up to a large, colourful courtyard garden complete with manicured lawns with grassy meadows beyond.
Brides get ready in the lovely oak-beamed bridal suite and also get a sneaky peek of arriving guests. After the interview in the balcony area opposite, it's then just a short walk to the marriage ceremony room.
Wedding ceremonies and receptions take place in the delightful Music Room, with an outside option in summer.
Cain Manor is part of the Bijou Group which also includes Botleys Mansion, Notley Abbey and Silchester House and they are run very smoothly with an exacting eye to detail and comfort.
As well as the wonderful, secluded and picturesque location the staff are always welcoming, professional and helpful and it's a very pleasant venue to return to.

A Cain Manor wedding photographer's perspective
What makes Cain Manor such a great wedding venue and one that you love returning to is its lovely homely feeling and picturesque setting. Which all just contributes to some lovely fun, relaxed and romantic wedding photography.
From salvaged ship timbers...
There isn't much available historical information about the origins of Cain Manor though its known to have been built in the Elizabethan period (1558-1603).
It was built as was the tradition in those times, from fine oak beams which were reclaimed timbers salvaged from merchant ships.
...To The Land of Nod
Interestingly, the origin of the name is believed to be from its owner, a Mr Cane. In finding himself excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church, he originally called the house 'The Land of Nod' thus referencing the biblical land where Cain was banished after slaying his brother Abel. When Cane reverted to the present and altered spelling of Cain however, is unclear.
...To popular Surrey Wedding venue
In 2003 Cain Manor joined the Bijou wedding venues group (which includes Botleys Mansion, Notley Abbey and Chateau du Bijou) and is now a very popular and successful barn style country house wedding venue.
There's something magical about getting married at Cain Manor…you feel it as you drive along the winding tree lined drive...and then there it is, with its distinctive distressed timber beams and pale yellow walls...

Getting married at Cain Manor - what to expect
The Music Room is the buzzing hub of activity at Cain Manor, being used for the marriage ceremony, wedding breakfast and dance-floor. Throughout the wedding guests can relax and socialise in the comfortable Drawing Room and in the lovely courtyard garden.
Music Room wedding photography
The marriage ceremony takes place in the atmospheric high ceilinged, oak-beamed barn like Music Room.
The large cathedral style windows at the front provides plenty of flowing natural light throughout the proceedings giving ample opportunity for lots of personal, close up shots.
With a capacity of up to 123 guests, there is both a sense of space and intimacy... and its a truly memorable moment for a bride as she descends the oak staircase from the bridal suite and walks across the Drawing Room into the Music Room and then down to the end of the aisle.
With the minstrel gallery above, there is also the opportunity to capture some great bird’s eye views and candid pictures.
After the happy couple have walked down the aisle as husband and wife, guests spill out onto the courtyard garden for some fun and enthusiastic confetti throwing, followed by drinks and canapés.
Music Room reception photography
After the drinks reception guests are called back into the Music Room to be seated ready for the arrival of the Bride and Groom for the wedding breakfast.
The newlyweds can enter through the main door or more dramatically, down the steps from the minstrel gallery.
There is plenty of room for a wedding photographer to move around to capture the action during the speeches and the addition of a birds-eye view from the Minstrell gallery offers an added visual dimension.
After the proceedings, guests adjourn to the drawing-room or out into the courtyard garden for tea and coffee, as the room is once more turned around.
And then it's back for the couple's first dance and a night of fun on the dance-floor.

Keeping everything in-house in this way also means we don’t keep our couples waiting longer than they should to see the wonderful picture story of their wedding. We also let you know the date when your photos will be ready to view so you don't have to chase us for an update and we pride ourselves on presenting them on time.

Larry
As well as helping us design and constantly improve our website he keeps our systems ticking over nice and smoothly so that everything works tickety-boo.
When Larry is not working with us he is an accomplished full-time artist, exhibiting his eye-catching work in the UK and around the world.
We can't say anymore though or show his face, he's a bit of a Banksy.
