The glorious splendour that is Great Fosters, from the elegance of its lovely interiors to its simply stunning grounds and setting

Great Fosters Wedding Photography
Great Fosters is a magnificent Grade l listed 16th Century mansion set in 50 acres of beautiful gardens with a wealth of wonderful wedding photography opportunities.
If you are looking for an experienced Great Fosters Wedding photographer then look no further.
Entering the solid oak front door with its wicket (door within a door) you arrive inside the Great Hall with its ornate plasterwork ceiling coloured from the smoke of the log fires as this was the original Dining Hall.
The Orangery is the main marriage ceremony room along with The Painted Hall and The Tithe Barn for receptions, though there are further outside options such as The Archery Pavilion, The Magnolia Lawn and The Garden Room.
The stunning gardens include such delights as The Knot maze garden which has the Drake sundial at its centre and dates to 1589, the lovely wooden Japanese Bridge, the beautiful Sunken Circular Rose Garden as well as other such treasures as a Saxon moat, which is dated around 500 AD and surrounding it on three sides and further up on the hillside, a turf ampitheatre.
Wonderfully managed with the highest level of service, Great Fosters is a very special Surrey wedding venue that you fondly remember and look forward to returning to.
In fact there's always something new to discover at Great Fosters, all you need is the time.

A Great Fosters wedding photographer's perspective
What makes Great Fosters such a great wedding venue and one that you love returning to is its wonderfully grand and luxurious interiors and its simple stunning gardens brimming with beautiful wedding photography opportunities.
From the Kings of England...
Built around 1550 Great Fosters has strong links to the monarchy, Henry Vlll even used it as a hunting lodge and around 1818 it became a lunatic asylum and it's believed that King George lll was treated here.
From Dining Room expansion…
In 1930 with a new owner, Great Fosters became a hotel and to increase the size of the dining room, the Tithe Barn from Ewell Manor in Malden (dated from 1390) was painstakingly dismantled, moved and rebuilt here.
...To Chicken Farming
In 1918 it became involved in poultry farming due to post war demand but in the early 1920’s the main architectural changes were made by WH Romaine-Walker, famous for his work on the Tate Gallery.
...To Knot Garden design
The main formal gardens were also designed in the 1920’s and today the wonderful knot garden of yew hedges, the wisteria- clad Japanese bridge and the beautiful Sunken Rose Garden are here for us all to admire and enjoy.
There's something magical about getting married at Great Fosters…from when you walk down the aisle of the bright Orangery to when you walk through the beautiful Sunken Rose Garden, across the wooden struts of the Japanese Bridge and onto the delightful knot maze...it's an experience you will never forget

Getting Married at Great Fosters - what to expect
The Orangery, The Tithe Barn along and The Painted Hall are the main marriage and reception rooms at Great Fosters though there are additional options.
In summer there is the lovely Archery Pavilion which can cater for up to 160 guests for the marriage ceremony and The Magnolia Lawn offering a wedding breakfast for up to 80 guests.
For smaller, more intimate weddings there is The Garden Room, with up 30 for the ceremony and 20 for the reception.
Orangery wedding photography
The bright, welcoming Orangery distinct with its exposed red brickwork and tall arched windows finished in white can seat up to 160 guests and is perfect for larger wedding parties.
It is blessed with plenty of natural light flooding in from the top and down one side and also with a generous amount of space to work and move around, all good for a wedding photographer capturing the details and emotions of the marriage ceremony.
After walking back down the generous aisle as a married couple, the newlyweds exit into the adjacent Painted Hall where celebratory drinks and canapés are served and guests can then spill out onto the pleasant terrace and beyond if they feel adventurous...the terrace leads straight to the beautiful sunken circular rose garden.
Tithe Barn reception photography
For larger weddings, the Tithe Barn becomes the centre of the afternoon and evening for the celebrations and can seat up to 180 guests.
Complete with old exposed English oak beams, casement windows with stone mullions and a large welcoming open fireplace, this space makes a truly atmospheric setting for fine dining along with the all-important speeches.
There is also a minstrel gallery above the head table, which provides alternative and interesting bird's eye view wedding photography opportunites of the proceedings below.
After the wedding breakfast, guests are lead into the adjoining Painted Hall for tea and coffee and back out onto the terrace during the warmer months whilst the barn is turned around for some dancing. A further 70 evening guests can join in the celebrations taking the total capacity up to 250 people.

Richard
I love being a documentary wedding photographer, for me it's an all consuming affair and one that is always rewarding. After 15 years and over 500 weddings I still find every one a unique and exciting event. To me it’s not just a job, it is my passion.

Always very well presented, I am friendly, cheerful and helpful so you can relax in the knowledge that I will blend in with all your guests and be a truly valuable addition to your day.
"Richard you have a lovely way of making people feel at ease, and many of our guests commented on this"

Tina
Having been a professional, full-time wedding photographer for over twelve years, Tina now concentrates her time in the studio, editing all our wedding images, designing wedding albums and ordering prints, an area that she is passionate about and which perfectly suits her previous interior design skills.
Keeping everything in-house in this way also means we don’t keep our couples waiting longer than they should to see the wonderful picture story of their wedding. We also let you know the date when your photos will be ready to view so you don't have to chase us for an update and we pride ourselves on presenting them on time.
If you want to talk about dresses and make-up then Tina's the one to have a chat with and if you want to talk about anything else, then myself or Tina are here at hand to answer any questions you may have.
Larry
As well as helping us design and constantly improve our website he keeps our systems ticking over nice and smoothly so that everything works tickety-boo.
When Larry is not working with us he is an accomplished full-time artist, exhibiting his eye-catching work in the UK and around the world.
We can't say anymore though or show his face, he's a bit of a Banksy.
